THE MUSIC COLLECTIVE (an AECG company)

Studio City, CA, April 07, 2010 – The Music Collective congratulates 20 West Productions on winning two distinguished Hugo Awards for their new crime series, “The Squeeze.” The impressive win is partially due to the collaborating efforts amongst The Music Collective’s impressive roster of composers, music supervisors and music editors.

For the past 46 years, Cinema Chicago has awarded Hugo awards to “pay tribute to those who push the envelope and display mastery of their craft,” in the field of television. “The Squeeze” was awarded a gold plaque (for reality series) and a silver plaque (for editing) in the 2010 Hugo Television Awards.

“The Music Collective’s tracks perfectly weave together the emotional palette of the subject matter: from the action-packed, adrenaline-driven police raids to the slow burn of psychological cat-and-mouse games between investigators and criminals, the music complements everything extremely well. The occasional hints of R&B soulfulness lend themselves to the gritty Chicago setting as well. And the theme for the opening titles brings a swagger and hook that I think viewers will grab onto immediately,” says Lance Hori, the Series Supervising Producer for “The Squeeze.”

The Music Collective is the music production, clearance and administration company within the AECG collection of companies. The AECG collection of companies consists of: Opus1 Music Library, Opus19 Music, Media City Sound, and Axelrod-Ett Productions.
